"If the field is seeking knowledge, what are the field’s standards of evidence and methods for self-correction over time? " Surely, this question was answered experimentally by Pluckrose, Lindsay, and Boghossian, when they published a batch of nonsense papers in journals devoted to a mock field called "Gender Studies". This field, like "Critical Social Theory", "Post-Colonial Theory", Homeopathy, Dianetics, etc., ought to have their own institutions outside those which are dedicated to knowledge of reality.

“… in humanistic disciplines that support favored (largely progressive-left) political views…”

The favored political views are only *largely* progressive-left?

I’d be *extremely* keen to learn which of the favored political views are not progressive-left!

Unless, of course, you were counting ”hard core radical activist left” separate from mere “progressive-left.

Either way, inquiring minds want to know!
