If they are sincere, then there should be severe consequences for anyone preventing invited speakers from being heard and denying others the right to hear what is being said. Disruptions of this sort are not "free speech" , but rather the tactics of brown shirt bullies and offenders should be removed. Whether they have a place at an institute of learning should be considered. This would be a good place to start, as schools seemed to have failed miserably in this regard. I would take having a clear policy into consideration when looking at government funding.
I agree and was about to say the same. Real action would include facilitating speakers with a range of ideas and viewpoints without fear of harm of any kind. That would take us way past the politically expedient platitudes of these administrators.
